Meet Some of Our Students…

Liam is a thoughtful, gifted learner who has a penchant for thinking deeply and solving complex problems. He attends 5280 because he wants to be challenged academically and likes to tackle challenging problems that require him to think and “tinker.” He is pictured here with a Pre-K student from Greenlee Elementary and the book that Liam and his peers wrote, illustrated, and translated for this emerging English and Spanish speaker.

At the Fall 2018 Exhibition of Learning, these students shared their own personal stories of connection with each other, their families, and their personal life goals. They appreciate 5280’s emphasis on personal wellness and community connection. Teenagers today struggle with immense pressures. Our students don't shy away from confronting these stressors to create a safe, positive community that builds empathy in a diverse world. Further, 5280’s Summit Program is a small program within 5280 that provides peer support and a strong community for students in recovery.
