PARENT HUB for 100% Virtual Learning
Parents and guardians, this is your “hub” and first point-of-contact for information about virtual learning at 5280 High School. We appreciate your collaboration during this unprecedented time to support your child’s continued learning in a virtual setting. Please find information below and to the right, and reach out to us at any time (see contact link on the right).
Important Information for Parents:
Students First: We acknowledge that this is an unsettling and difficult time for many families. Your health and wellbeing is our top concern. If, at any time, you experience hardship and difficulty that inhibits distance learning, please reach out to us at info@5280highschool.org or 720-919-1056.

Basic Expectations:
***Parents, please review the information we have provided on the Student Hub for distance learning at 5280HS. This document and the links on the page will bring you up to speed with what students are seeing right now and includes much of the introductory information they need to know before we launch next Tuesday.
Every student will have their first online class next Tuesday at 9:00am. They will begin the week with Advisory, with academic classes to start at 9:30am (see weekly schedule for details).
Students should follow the weekly schedule and login on time for each of their classes. You can know what classes your child is enroll in by checking your Parent Portal account. Students will have 1-2 classes each day to attend virtually, and will have additional learning to complete independently on their own. Helping your child make daily “to-do lists,” or keep a regular schedule will help them stay on top of deadlines and meet class requirements. Students should expect 4-6 hours of learning each day, including 1-3 hours of “live” class daily.
If a student is not able to log into a class at the time of the class (ie for a doctor’s appointment), parents should fill out the Attendance Form as soon as you are aware of your child’s expected absence. After submitting the form, teachers will be notified of the expected absence.
Students are expected to practice basic professional norms while engaged in distance learning platforms. Examples are the use of appropriate language, no distracting video performances, no “hacking” or other inappropriate use of technology, or any other behavior that would be inappropriate for a school setting. We would appreciate your support in establishing these norms. Parents of students not meeting the norms will be contacted for next steps.
Tech Support: Students needing tech support (i.e. chromebook, wifi access, Zoom help, Google Classroom help, etc), should email cody.miller@5280highschool.org and he will route the tech support request to the appropriate person.
Lunch Account Donations: Parents wishing to donate funds in your child’s lunch account that will go unused this year, feel free to do so HERE. The donated funds will support the food distribution program that will continue the rest of the year to support families who need access to free school lunches.
This page will be updated with new information as we launch and as new information is needed. And of course feel free to reach out to us any time at 720-919-1056 or info@5280highschool.org. Thank you and stay safe.
